So, there is the crisis staring at our eyes.
It has jumped at the road ahead, blocking our path, preparing to strike. Suddenly we realized that we won’t be able to just keep walking.
We know our way of living is about to be shaken, and the decisions we make at this moment will define where we will end. We fear for our comfortable routines. We fear for our survival.
The superficial thoughts and stories we tell us about ourselves are washed away.
There is no time left to play with them. Only what was is settled remains: instincts, rooted lessons, deeper beliefs. They take control, hijacking our muscles into action.
While some of us run to the gun, others run to the violin. While some of us run to a hole in the ground, others run up the mountain. While some of us shun away in fear, others step up to protect our tribe.
And in a chain reaction, some tribes disaggregate as their members run in despair to the woods, while other tribes compact their members in a strong unified block to face whatever comes to challenge them.
The lessons and beliefs that were able to set roots in our tribe culture will define our tribe actions.
Do we truly care for each other?
Are the members of our team, really, the most important assets we have?
Do we really live to serve? Are our customer needs really our purpose, and the money we make just a consequence? Or is it the other way around?
Are we stepping up for our customers? Are we holding arms with them in close contact, ready to face the challenge together? Or are we shunning away, whining and licking our own fear?
Have our customers and suppliers become our enemies fighting for what really matters – cash – claiming each other’s debts?
When the crisis is over, we will survey the battlefield. We will see many died as heroes fighting with not enough resources. Others died as cowards, running away. Others were caught in their hide outs, collapsed in fear.
But most will survive.
Some tribes will come out together and stronger.
Others will try to gather their disbanded team and their disbanded customers hoping it will take longer for them to fade.
